Identifying a Good Signal for Your TV

By Donald J. Rodriguez

Know the best ways to adjust your HDTV aerial for the perfect watching experience from your TV set. This information will help you on how to do it.

Specify area of television station antenna. The initial thing which should be performed is to phone the community TV station. Ask the staff of the station regarding the broadcast antennas' specific area.

The the next step that you must do now is to reposition your external aerial. In case you'd your antenna fitted on the roof top, you have to loosen the U-bolts that are holding the aerials. Then, reposition the aerial and point it to the direction where the television station's broadcast mast is situated. Make sure to have a helper to help you monitor the television each time you create any modifications to the aerial. Avoid screaming to one another to talk, but rather, use a phone. Each time you make a change to the position of the external antenna, ask your helper to rescan for channels. And then, when you have finally obtained the stations you wish, fasten the U-bolts to keep the aerial secured in place.

Create adjustments to the interior antennas. Elevate the aerial ears as high as possible to the ceiling. Then, check your TV if the stations are getting a good reception. If not, continue readjusting the aerial ears by directing them to the window.

Take the aerial near the window. In case pulling and repositioning the aerial ears didn't work, you can try taking your TV set and antennas close to the window. Oftentimes this will work since signals are strongest where there are no physical barriers. Whenever changing the position of the antennas, make sure that its wires are not kinked.

You may also try to find the best reception from within the room by moving the aerial around the room. Execute this while carefully checking the reception of channels from the TV. Once you've identified which specific spot within the room provides the perfect reception, transfer your television set to that area.

An elevated place at home also provides a better television reception from, say, the basement or first floor. Therefore, consider moving your TV set to an elevated floor if it is not receiving the reception you need from its current floor location.
